The season of all things white and wonderful, cold and cheerful, festive and fabulous, and giving and gratitude is upon us once again. Another eventful year is coming to a close. We have celebrated occasions of joy and nursed many wounds, forged friendships and waved goodbyes, cheered underdogs and lauded winners, notched up the 10000 steps and savored sweets that went viral1, and so turned the page in the diary to face one more day, a more year.
Let’s get ready for another year of adventure!
Let’s hope that leaders everywhere – from companies to countries, get driven more by nobler purposes towards global causes, and less by petty or partisan ambitions.
Let’s manifest2 a better future together. More enterprise, less entitlement. More compassion, less consumption. More grace, less greed. More peace, less pessimism.
This new year, let’s hope for less rain, and more sunshine for all of us. If there are rains, let’s empower each other to build ourselves arks to help tide over any floods. If there is sun, let’s pray for the kind of sunshine that kindles spirits and not burn down forests.
As the holiday season rounds up, gather your close ones and enjoy the festivities together. Make sure you plan for the rain in advance. Even a drink has an umbrella3 ! So should you. Get investing now to secure your future and safeguard against any stormy and turbulent days to come.
