Green Valley Wealth Advisors’ quantitative, thematic and contrarian strategy (CHKP, ALTR, OIS)

Eric Linser, CFA is the Chief Investment Officer of San Francisco-based Green Valley Wealth Advisors LLC, one of our newest model managers on Covestor. Eric has been actively involved in investment management, research, and providing financial advice since 1990. He founded the firm in mid-2009 to provide individual investors with more knowledgeable guidance and counseling around wealth management. Here’s how Eric describes his firm’s investment process:

The methods we employ are quantitative, thematic and contrarian. We pursue investment strategies that set us apart from other investment firms. We manage strategies across equity, fixed income, and alternative asset classes. Managing risk and ensuring adequate diversification are hallmarks of our investment philosophy.

Green Valley Wealth Advisors manages Covestor’s new Eagle Portfolio, which hunts for long-term value hidden by short-term adversity:

We constantly search over 2,200 companies for those rare cases where short-term disappointment causes general opinion to turn negative but where, to the contrary, our long-term “quality of the business” analysis finds hidden value. We expect that, over time, the long-term value of the business will triumph over short term distractions, to the benefit of our investors.

Current top holdings include Check Point Software Technologies (NASDAQ: CHKP), Oil States International (NYSE: OIS) and Altera Corp (NASDAQ: ALTR).
