What Covestor Managers are Buying: Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes and Lazard Capital Markets (GOL, LAZ)

Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA (NYSE: GOL) was added to Andy Djordjalian’s South America model this month. Some believe that airlines in emerging markets are in for a surge of business as travel to the regions they serve becomes more popular. This line of thinking is supported by the January 10th article, “GOL Linhas Traffic Surges” (Zacks.com) which mentions that GOL’s December 2010 traffic was 4.5 percent higher than it was in December 2009. To help facilitate more traffic, GOL recently entered into a code-share agreement with Qatar Airways that will allow passengers to book flights through either airline and allow for revenue sharing.

Editor’s note: As of 9/20/11 Lucas Krupinski no longer manages a Covestor model

Lucas Krupinski added Lazard Capital Markets (NYSE: LAZ) to his Small Cap Fundamentals model. When adding to the model, Krupinski often looks for positions that are generating significant dividend income. On January 13th, LAZ had a 1.2 percent dividend yield. In October, LAZ underwrote the Aegerion Pharmaceuticals IPO along with Leerink Swann. In the same month, LAZ released their quarter three 2010 financial results, which showed their EPS beating the estimates of analysts.
