The September month is the time of equinox. The word is derived from Latin, from aequus (equal) and nox (night). The Autumn or Fall equinox heralds the end of summer for those of us in the Northern hemisphere. For those residing in the Southern hemisphere, it adds a ‘spring’ in the step of course ! It’s the time to reflect on the impending changes, the days gone by and the days yet to come, and to prepare for the upcoming swings in mercury.
It’s amazing to see how nature works. Everything follows a careful method, and the underlying meticulous planning never fails to inspire awe. There is logic in the ways, clockwork in the timing, symmetry in the actions, balance in the cycle, divinity in the surprises, and resilience in the renewal.
The onset of fall reminds one of the inevitability of one’s own autumn years. Bringing to the fore a lifetime of hard work that one hopes to end in the golden years of retirement.
In the comfort of a lovely home to call one’s own. Not in the one that has impersonal walls and a borrowed legacy.
Surrounded by family and friends and nature. Not in a remote concrete jungle of thinning air and senseless noise.
