Covestor portfolio managers have looked into their crystal balls and shared their 2015 outlooks with several major media outlets in recent months.
Jane Edmondson, who oversees the Mid Cap Quant portfolio and Barry Randall, who runs the Crabtree Technology portfolio, were both selected for US News & World Report’s Top 15 Investing Tips for 2015.
Banks and smartphones
Edmondson suggested “banking on regional banks” as her 2015 tip of the year.
“Shares of regional banks are particularly leveraged to rising interest rates. The ongoing housing recovery has improved the quality of their balance sheets, positioning them for growth,” she said.
Randall recommended smartphone suppliers’ stocks for the US News annual top investing tips feature.
“You don’t have to care [which smartphone] wins in the retail marketplace, because your company is already supplying the eventual winner.”
