Morningstar recently awarded a prestigious four stars to Barry Randall – the manager of Covestor’s Crabtree Technology model – for a composite tech portfolio that Barry has managed over the past three years.
The Crabtree Multi-Cap Technology vehicle, which includes the Crabtree Technology model currently available on Covestor, received four out of five possible stars from Morningstar for Morningstar’s separately managed accounts database. The rating ranks funds by their risk-adjusted returns. (See details on Morningstar’s methodology for these ratings.)
To receive a Morningstar rating, an investment manager submits a composite of similarly managed portfolios. The vehicle known to Morningstar as the Crabtree Multi-Cap Technology vehicle is a composite of the Covestor Crabtree model since its inception, merged with another Crabtree Fund account that Barry maintained since March 2009. The composite therefore reflects the real-world performance of all accounts that follow the Crabtree Technology investment strategy, including Barry’s model on Covestor (but it is not identical with Covestor’s Crabtree Technology model).
Congratulations, Barry!
