Dell buying AMD, the company with ‘no management team’? (DELL, AMD)

Tiernan Ray of Barron’s Tech Trader Daily reported yesterday (2/14) the rumors that chipmaker AMD might be bought by Dell. Ian King at Bloomberg added this harsh quote from an analyst:

“There is no management team there [at AMD],” said Patrick Wang, an analyst at Wedbush Securities in New York. There is some “chatter” that the company is up for sale, he said. “It’s a far- fetched possibility.”

Here are the Covestor models that hold AMD as of end of day 2/14:

  • Robert Foo’s Core
  • Ascendere Associate’s Systemic Long-Only

And those that hold Dell as of end of day 2/14:

  • Jose Betancourt’s Cash Flow
  • Bristlecone’s Large-Cap Value
  • Sean Hannon’s Bottom-Up Analysis is short DELL
  • Sean Hannon’s Bottom-Up Analysis Aggressive is also short DELL
