This week’s Wall Street Transcript interview is with Covestor member Howard Barr, aka habarr. Howard currently works in IT but may shortly be switching to a career in Finance.
He has a mixed strategy incorporating both short-term positions and some longer-term holdings. Typically when shooting for short term gains he holds for 3 days to 3 weeks.
In his interview Howard talks about the processes he employs to evaluate stocks – in combining both fundamental and technical analysis. He takes advantage of his experience as a software developer, including monitoring web traffic for the companies he is watching. Although his portfolio has had a pretty torrid time in February, given his consistent performance since joining Covestor in July 07, he is still ranked in the top 50 by Annualized Sharpe Ratio.
Howard has indicated that he would blog regularly if enough people express an interest. Here at Covestor would be keen to read more, as Howard takes a very considered approach to his investments. You can find his interview on the top right hand side of his fact sheet.
