Buying healthcare and industrial sector ETFs

Covestor models: Sector Trends, Stocks Gold Treasuries US Dollar

In January, I moved out of the PowerShares DB USD Index Bullish Fund (UUP) and bought into the Health Care SPDR exchange traded fund (XLV) and the Select Sector Industrial SPDR Fund (XLI). (Editor’s note: Mr. Kochiya sold XLV in early February.)

These trades fit with my trend-following strategy. I will now sit and observe what trends develop during the month of February, and once again, be prepared to rotate out of the weaker trends and into the strongest trends.

For my other Covestor model – Stocks, Gold, Treasuries, US Dollar – in January, I sold the PowerShares DB U.S. Dollar Index Bullish Fund (UUP) and purchased the SPDR S&P500 EFT Trust (SPY). These trades fit with my trend-following strategy and I will now sit and observe how things unfold in February. Once again, I will be prepared to rotate out of the weaker trends and into the strongest ones.
